Monday Motivation: You’ll Miss The Person You are Now

The seasons change from summer to fall. The leaves change from a vibrant green full of life to crisp orange and red colors as they fall to the earth. Friends go back to school. Things change. Summer ends — fall begins.

Does this seem a little dramatic?

Either way, the end of summer always leaves me melancholy. Life will never be the same as it is now — as it is in this moment

Well, my friends, my metaphoric fall has come early.

On Saturday, my best friend will be leaving the country for a few months for an internship abroad (Congratulations, by the way!).

You may be thinking to yourself, “Self, this post isn’t motivating nor is it Monday.” (Better late than never, am I right?) However, I motivate you to celebrate your best friend and everything they mean to you.

From a young age, I have always been an independent person. I’m curious but can figure out the answer to any question on my own. I can overcome obstacles by myself. That has always been my mindset.

But, I’ve learned, in the past few months, you shouldn’t have to overcome life’s hurdles by yourself. There are people in your life who want to share your joys as well as your sorrows. No matter what they are there for you. No matter how many miles separate you, they have left an imprint on you and you on them.

So, I am calling you to action — celebrate your best friend today. How would your life be different without them? Don’t take them for granted because they are rare commodities in this world.

In life, there are few people who will know you like a best friend and that, my friends, makes them a rare and treasured find. Cherish them. Cherish the moments you have together because, unfortunately, one day it will never be this way again.

On a happier note, they have left an imprint on you, which you will carry forward with you. Their imprint will guide you throughout the journey of life.

Happy celebrating your best friend!
