Happy Castleversary!

tumblr_n26ou0EAih1so43z4o1_500Five years ago today, I was sitting in my bedroom watching “Dancing With The Stars” and doing homework. And then this little show called “Castle” came on. It was the first episode “Flowers For Your Grave.” I was immediately intrigued.

At this point, I had watched most of the various branches of the “Law & Order” dynasty. While they had great cases, the episodes were too rigid. Rarely did you get to know more about Olivia and Stabler. But with “Castle,” it was something new. Richard Castle who is mystery novelist but acts like a cop pushes Det. Kate Beckett’s buttons with his presence. We got to see him at home with Alexis, his daughter, and Martha, his mother, and at the precinct with Ryan and Esposito. Family ties were established as well as bromances. But ultimately, he was intrigued by the cases, and he was intrigued by her story. And then it became their story.

Five years. Six seasons. And the rest is history.

Happy Castleversary, Castle fandom!

[Spoiler] Castle: ‘After the Storm’ … A Caskett-y Afterglow

We’ve made it, Castle fans! It’s time to bask in the Caskett-y afterglow, especially since ABC released a few sneak peek clips from the Castle season premiere.

If you haven’t seen them, brace yourself. Fangirling is about to hit new levels. Insert numerous “Oh my god”s, excessive smiling, hands flailing and, maybe, some jumping up and down.

I could describe the wonderfulness of the firat sneak peek clip, but my words won’t do it justice, so here it is:

Ready for more? I thought so.

The second sneak peek is just as equally amazing. A Caskett walk of shame — who would’ve thought?

Take a peek:

Alexis hungover. Beckett forgetting her bra. Castle’s shirt is unbuttoned.

Enough said.

Welcome back, Castle! It’s been far, far too long!

We’re in the final stretch, only hours to go until the premiere, which airs after Dancing With The Stars.

I love Mondays! Happy Castle-ing!

Castle: Holy. Fangirling. Season 5 Promo

“So it wasn’t a dream,” Castle asked as Beckett gleefully smiles in a white button-down shirt.

Spoiler alert — If you haven’t finished season four, stop reading this post now and proceed to watching season four in its entirety.

If you have finished season four, then please feel free to join me in the fangirl section after watching the first promo released by ABC.

For Lovers Only: Available For Your Netflix Viewing Pleasure

Source: For Lovers Only Movie Website

With great pleasure, I’m excited to announce that For Lovers Only, one of my personal favorite movies, is now available on Netflix Instant, for your viewing pleasure.

Until now, it had been available for purchase and to rent on Itunes and Amazon, which had deterred many of my friends from watching it but now there’s absolutely no reason — it’s included in your Netflix Instant subscription! Unless, of course, you don’t have a subscription to Netflix and, as a result, you should consider getting one to view this film.

For Lovers Only is the story of a man and a woman, former lovers, who bump into each other on the streets of Paris. These two cannot resist their undeniable chemistry, which leads them on a journey around France.

Not only does the simplicity of the plot speak volumes, it is one of the most breathtakingly beautiful films ever. What’s more, it’s in black and white, which is a welcomed changed from the overly digitally rendered films distributed today.

“This picture is a study and meditation on two LOVERS,” according to the film’s website. “A picture that practices restraint and embraces limitation–that allows the viewer to hold no judgment on the LOVERS behavior, but to accept these two and their passion for one another as something beautiful and rare.”

And, For Lovers Only, a film that has set the standard for straight-to-iTunes releaseses, does just that.

Honestly, don’t take my word for it. Grab a bottle of wine, a few glasses and embrace For Lovers Only — starring Mark Polish and Stana Katic — for everything that it is.

Castle: The Kiss That Broke The Internet

It’s been a month since the season finale, titled “Always,” of ABC’s Castle aired. Usually I’ve always looked forward to summer but, honestly, is it September yet?

“Always” finally (FINALLY!) brought our two favorite leads together — the writer and his muse — in what I would like to call “The Kiss That Broke The Internet.”

If you haven’t seen it, then please take a moment to watch it now. You won’t be disappointed.

But, over the past four seasons, as Castle has assisted Beckett in the name of character research, we’ve seen numerous melt-worthy moments. In these moments, Castle has the ability to see through the protective shield she has put up. He has the ability to pinpoint who she is and how she feels, and Beckett knows he’s right.

As a result, Kate Beckett slowly lets her guard down, and we see the evolution of a well-written, strong female character.

So, to satisfy my longing for September and new episodes of Castle, I’ve compiled five of my favorite Castle make-me-melt moments. These are the moments that showcase Beckett’s strength but acknowledge her weaknesses and ability to turn them into opportunities for growth.”Most people come up against a wall, they give up. Not you. You don’t let go — You don’t back down. That’s what makes you extraordinary.”

1. “Most people come up against a wall, they give up. Not you. You don’t let go — you don’t back down. That’s what makes you extraordinary.”

2. “You know what I thought when I first met you? That you were a mystery I was never going to solve. Even now, after spending all this time with you, I’m still amazed at the depths of your strength, your heart and your hotness.”

3. “Well, Clara started off as Sophia, but she ended up being more like you. You know, smart, fierce, kind. I think that’s one of the reasons why I was to you, as a muse.”

4. “Just waiting for my partner. Maybe you’ve seen her — pretty girl, think she can leap tall buildings in a single bound, carries the weight of the world on her shoulders, yet, still manages to laugh at some of my jokes. Anyway, if you do see her, tell her she owes me about a hundred coffees.”

5. “How are you…? Because of everything we’ve been through together. Four years, I’ve been right here. Four years, just waiting for you to open your eyes and see that I’m right here. And, I’m more than a partner. Every morning I bring you a cup of coffee just so I can see a smile on your face because I think you are the most remarkable, maddening, challenging and frustrating person I’ve ever met. And I love you, Kate. If that means anything to you. If you care about me at all, just don’t do this.”
The last scene is the icing on the cake — it’s bittersweet. All of their secrets come out. Castle admits his love for her — not once, but twice. He puts his heart on the line and, in true Kate Beckett style, she does not back down. She does not give in, and that’s what makes it extraordinary.
If you haven’t watched an episode of Castle in your life, then you have the entire summer to get caught up.
And, if you do watch Castle and need your fix, ABC is currently airing reruns. ABC aired “Kill Shot” on Monday, June 4 and earned Castle it’s highest summer hiatus rerun to date, according Wetpaint Entertainment. “Cuffed” will be airing Monday, June 11 at 10/9 central.
Happy Castle-ing!

Castle: Secrets Explode & Walls Come Down

“Secrets are like time bombs,” Castle said. “Eventually… they explode,” expressed Beckett.

If you’ve been watching season four of ABC’s castle, then you’re well aware of the theme — secrets.

Well, one bomb has already exploded. In “47 Seconds,” as Beckett interrogates a bomb suspect without the help of her crime-novelist pal, she corners the suspect as she admits shock is not excuse.

“It was not the trauma. You don’t get to use that excuse,” Beckett said, as Castle unknowingly looked on. “The hell you don’t remember. Do you want to know trauma? I was shot in the chest and I remember every second of it.”

Since then, we’ve seen Castle painfully pull away from his muse. But, we’ve also seen Lanie, medical examiner and friend, nudge Beckett toward outwardly expressing her feelings for Castle to Castle.

As Beckett slowly works through her feelings, we’re inching ever so close to the season finale, which is scheduled to air May 7. Three episodes left, including Monday’s episode, “Headhunters.”

Much like Castle, I’ve resorted to creating grand theories in my head as to how the writers will push our two favorite leads together and, ultimately, how the season finale, which is titled “Always,” will play out.

1. Beckett’s wall comes down. How exactly — I don’t know. In “Rise,” the season premiere, Beckett said, “After my mother was killed, something inside me changed. It’s like I built up this wall inside. I don’t know — I guess I didn’t want to hurt like that again. I know I’m not going to be able to be the kind of person I want to be. I’m not going to be able to have the kind of relationship I want until that wall comes down. And that isn’t going to happen until I put this thing to rest.” As far as we’re concerned, Castle is still independently investigating her mother’s murder. Maybe Castle finds a piece of information that shines a brighter light on those involved. But, how does Kate handle the fact that Castle was independently investigating without her but to protect her? Which leads to the next point.

2. The files see daylight. In season three’s “Knockdown,” Beckett told Castle she believed her mother, Johanna Beckett, was killed because of case she was working on. Johanna had requested files that went missing. In the season finale, Capt. Montgomery sends, what I believe to be, those same files to the dark, shadowy figure, who we meet in the season four premiere and who also makes an appearance in “Dial M for Mayor.” If these files do come out, then Beckett’s safety isn’t guaranteed, as promised. The Castle writers have strategically made the presence of these files known in all episodes that involve Johanna Beckett’s murder. Why? Series Creator Andrew Marlowe and various actors have said the finale will be emotionally shocking — I’m thoroughly convinced the emotion stems from those files.

3. “My precinct is not a place for vendettas.” If those files are emotionally shocking and made public, then Capt. Gates would learn the nature of the cover up in regard to Capt. Montgomery’s involvement, and also that they were investigating the case after she had closed it, which leads me to believe that Beckett and possibly Ryan Esposito will be suspended from duty after this revelation. Will Capt. Gate’s suspension of the team push Castle and Beckett closer together? That is yet to be seen but, boy, I sure hope so!

Now, let’s focus on the present. In “Headhunters,” Castle seeks out another detective in an attempt to pull away from Beckett but he will quickly learn that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. We also see Kate have a Castle breakthrough with her therapist.

Take a look.

“What do you think he’s telling you with his behavior?” Dr. Burke said. “That maybe he’s not there anymore. That maybe he’s not ready. What if I waited too long?” Kate said.

Honestly, I hope Castle is put in an uncomfortable position as he is galavanting around New York with Det. Slaughter, who is played by “Firefly” alum Adam Baldwin, and comes to terms with his feelings about not only Beckett but also dets. Ryan and Esposito.

It’s finally here, Castle fans. The day has finally arrived.

Please note Castle shouting, “NPYD!”

Castle: Girl Talk & a Big Opportunity

The weekend is finally here. For some people, that’s an expression of relief and excitement. But, for me, that expression represents, “Thank god it’s the weekend, only a few more days until a new episode of Castle!”

The latest episode, “47 Seconds,” which left me heartbroken, where Castle learns that Beckett remembers everything from the day she was shot. In case you forgot, she has denied remembering any part of it, specifically the whispering of “I love you, Kate” by  Castle, for the entirety of the season.

What’s more, her secret comes out and she isn’t aware that Castle knows. It breaks my heart.

Well, let’s look on the bright side. It’s Saturday, which means Castle is two days away. And, the latest sneak peeks have been released for the upcoming episode, “The Limey.” Here they are:

1. It’s time for some girl talk. It’s about time Lanie talked some sense into Kate. “The guy is crazy about you. And despite your little act, you’re crazy about it. What? Was that supposed to be some big secret.” Thank god, plain and simple. This is the first time we really get a little insight into Kate’s perspective. We always get that with Castle, whether it be with Martha or Alexis. So writers, I thank you for this and would love to see more of it.

2. “I feel like I just walked into a bad episode of Miami Vice,” said Kate Beckett. Break my heart. Castle regresses to his playboy ways and rubs it in Kate’s face. After last week, Kate will need to be the one who speaks up.

3. And instead of speaking up, Kate makes Castle jealous. In “47 Seconds,” Martha said that Castle cannot work side-by-side with Beckett and turn his feelings off. He disagrees and said he can. Welcome back, feelings and emotions!

 4. In case you  missed the promo for “The Limey,” then here it is. Please note the narrator’s words, “An opportunity so big, she better grab it before it’s lost forever.” Is that a little foreshadowing? My imagination is running wild with various theories. Remember, Stana revealed Castle fans will be a 12 on a scale of one to 10 by the end of the season, so let’s remain positive.

5. And finally, to hold you over until Monday, here is a fantastic fan video.  I’m OBSESSED with the song “Poison & Wine” by The Civil Wars, and this video contains the latest Castle and Beckett moments. Absolutely phenomenal.

Two days, Castle fans. Two days.
