Best Moments of the #Oscars: Selfies, Photobombs, & Breaking Twitter

You can never go wrong when Ellen is hosting. Period.

There were high expectations coming into this evening’s broadcast of the #Oscars, especially after Ellen’s fantastic commercial. She dances down the street to Fitz and the Tantrums’ “The Walker” as dancers follow her lead.

Here is my list of the top five moments of the Oscars. Ellen you’re killing it so far.

1. The opening monologue. Ellen said, “It is the Hunger Games. There are cameras everywhere, you’re all starving, and Jennifer Lawrence won last year.” The content. The delivery. Her expressions. Everything was spot on.

2. Pharrell performs “Happy” from “Despicable Me 2.” Meryl Streep, Amy Adams and Lupita Nyong’o dance, shimmy and shake it with Pharrell.

3. That moment when Ellen broke Twitter. Best. Selfie. Ever.

Ellen requested everyone Retweet this photo, which then produced this result.

4. Then she posted this photo of JLaw backstage. Best. Caption. Ever. “A rare photo of Jennifer Lawrence standing up. #oscars” This was taken after Jennifer Lawrence fell down on the Red Carpet. And, of course, how could we forget her fall last year as she walked to the stage.

5. And then there was that time Ellen photobombed Sandra Bullock and Leonardo DiCaprio.

These were only a few of the fantastic moments from the Oscars.

Ellen, you killed it! Sign her up for the next few years. She broke Twitter. What more social interaction could you want?!

Tuesday Tune: Pharrell’s #Happy

There’s nothing better than a song that instantly brightens your day when it comes on. Right now, that’s Pharrell’s Oscar-nominated “Happy” for me. I can’t help but clapping along, dancing around and even throwing in some spirit fingers when this song starts playing. The best part–In the music video, people are dancing down the street just being happy. Happiness is contagious!

If you haven’t heard it yet, then check it out below:

“Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth. Clap along if you know what happiness is to you. Clap along if feel like that’s what you want to do.”

Just dance. Be happy.
